If you are planning to travel to Austria for a short stay (up to 90 days), you will need a Schengen Short Stay Visa also known as a C-type visa.

You would need to get any one of the following Schengen Visas for Austria:

Austria Entry Restrictions in Response to Coronavirus

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Austria, as well as the rest of the EU and Schengen Area members imposed an EU-wide entry ban on third-country nationals in mid-March 2020. Entry restrictions are frequently changing based on the COVID-19 situation in other countries.

How to Apply for an Austria Tourist Visa?

When you want to apply for a Schengen Tourist Visa you’ll follow a few simple steps:

Download thevisa application form. The first thing you should do is fill in the form and make sure it’s ready to go.
Gather all your documents.Make sure all the above-mentioned documents are ready and up to date.
Make an appointment. You can’t just submit the documents whenever you’re ready, you need to make an appointment with the embassy/consulate and submit them.
Prepare for an interview.You’ll probably be asked to sit down for an interview where you’ll answer a few questions about yourself and about your trip.
Wait for an answer.After you’ve submitted your application you’ll have to wait to be notified whether you’ve been given a visa or not.

Visa Processing Time

Most of the time it will take up to 15 days to review your application. There are some cases when it might take longer, but you will be notified of any issues that come up.

Make sure to check your email as the embassy will let you know if you’ve been approved for a visa. Afterwards, you can go and pick up your visa or the embassy will send it to you by courier.

Duration of stay:

Schengen tourist visas are valid up to 90 days within a 180 day period. If you are planning to visit other countries within the Schengen Zone those days are counted as well.
