Visit Visa (Philippines)
The Philippines, situated in the western Pacific Ocean, consists of approximately 7,641 islands, broadly divided into three geographical divisions: Luzon, Visas and Mindanao.
The country has some of the best biodiversity in the world. The most popular tourist destinations in the country are the beaches, islands, rainforests, mountains, and diving spots.
Citizens of certain countries including India are entitled to a visa-free entry to the Philippines if they want to visit the country as a tourist. However, this visa-free entry facility is valid for only 21 days. For visits that will exceed 21 days, a tourist visa is necessary.
All nationals exempted from visas that extend their stay by two months per extension, but the entire period of their stay cannot exceed two years. Nationals who are required to apply for a tourist visa may also extend their stay, but only 30 days for each extension. In the Philippines, the cumulative amount of time spent cannot exceed 6 months.
What is Philippines Visit Visa?
The Philippines visitor visa (another way to indicate a tourist permit) is an entry requirement for citizens of several countries. A tourist visa holder can travel to the Philippines and present their documents at any port of entry. However, the visa issued is not a guarantee that its holder will be automatically admitted into the country. The final decision is up to the immigration officers at the border.
According to the Philippines government, a “foreign tourist” is defined as a person who is reaching the Philippines for a legitimate, non-immigrant purpose such as sightseeing, sports, health, visiting family, training or short-term study (excluding enrolment in a school in the Philippines to pursue a title or degree) religious pilgrimage, business, cultural and scientific activities
